Is my time card data private?
Completely. Calculations run in your browser and entries are saved only to your browser's local storage so they survive a refresh. Nothing you type is ever sent to our servers.
How do I convert minutes to decimal hours for payroll?
Divide minutes by 60: 45 minutes is 0.75 hours. Every calculator here shows totals in both h:mm and decimal, and the minutes to decimal chart lists all 60 conversions.
How does the calculator handle overnight shifts?
If a clock-out time is earlier than the clock-in time, the shift is treated as ending the next day. An 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM shift counts 8 hours automatically.
Which overtime rules are supported?
The federal FLSA rule (1.5× after 40 hours per week) and California's daily rules (1.5× after 8 hours a day, 2× after 12, plus 7th consecutive day premiums), including protection against double counting.
Can I use the calculators on my phone?

Why do totals show both 8:30 and 8.50?
They're the same amount of time in two notations: 8 hours 30 minutes on a clock, and 8.50 as a decimal for payroll math. Showing both prevents the most common timesheet error.
